The student and adult directors of The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield (TSF) recently convened for their 64th Annual Meeting at the West Side Social Club. During this gathering, new directors were welcomed, reports and a video recap of the past year and plans for the upcoming year were shared.
The meeting included the announcement of the 2024 Patricia B. Mooney Volunteer Recognition Award. Pat Mooney was a pillar of TSF who contributed to every aspect of the organization in her remarkable 34 years of service. The award in her name recognizes an individual who has contributed outstanding volunteer leadership and service to further the mission of TSF.
This year’s award was proudly awarded to Bo Martin for his many contributions as a director, fund sponsor, and generous supporter.

Three resigning directors were recognized for their many contributions to TSF. Ann Hadley, Bo Martin and Mary Anne Power were acknowledged for a combined total of 42 years of service.
Ann Hadley, a director for 27 years, served on multiple committees including Publicity and PR, Dance, Executive, Golf, and the 50th Anniversary celebration. She has provided public relations and marketing expertise and served as TSF’s official photographer, chronicling all of TSF’s major events. She was also the recipient of the 2022 Patricia B. Mooney Volunteer Recognition Award.
Bo Martin served on the board of directors for 11 years as a director, serving on the Annual Appeal, Business Appeal and Office committees while also providing generous support.
Mary Anne Power, a director for the past four years, served on the Office, Golf, Trivia and Executive committees. She was a key member of many fundraisers, including the Trivia Team Challenge, and Annual Golf Tournament.
TSF is pleased that each of the resigning directors will continue contributing to the organization as Friends of TSF.

The attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner catered by Anne Giambarresi of House Calls Catering. Rosanne Phillips and Michael Rodman, along with Carol Hannigan, made it a special event with the donation of beautifully designed floral centerpieces.
The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield is a 501(c)3, non-profit community organization dedicated to empowering local students in their pursuit of higher education by offering financial need support. Beyond our commitment to students, we proudly administer and manage scholarship funds that have been established by community members to commemorate individuals, families, businesses, and organizations.
