The directors of The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield (TSF) recently gathered for their 65th Annual Meeting, which included committee reports, the recognition of two exceptional directors, and the introduction of new board members.

TSF President T.J. White announced the recipient of the 2025 Patricia B. Mooney Volunteer Recognition Award.  Pat Mooney was a vital member of TSF who contributed to every aspect of the organization in her remarkable 34 years of service.  The award in her name recognizes an individual who has contributed outstanding volunteer leadership and service to further the mission of TSF.  The 2025 recipient is Kathy Scanlon, honored for her many contributions as a director, president and active volunteer.  President White stated that Kathy “embodies the spirit of volunteering by offering thoughtful support and encouragement to others, and inspiring those around her to contribute their best.  Her example has strengthened our sense of community and our shared belief in the power of education to transform lives.”

Jay Landers was recognized at TSF’s Annual Meeting for his many outstanding contributions. A framed copy of the 65th Anniversary Celebration program booklet, which was dedicated to Jay, was presented to him at the meeting.

Longtime director and Treasurer Jay Landers, Jr. was also recognized and celebrated for his outstanding dedication to TSF.  Since 1992, Jay has served the organization as  director, auditor, vice president, president, and for close to three decades in the role of treasurer.  He had devoted countless hours to safeguarding the organization’s financial health, and guiding the group through challenges and growth.  As part of TSF’s 65th Anniversary Celebration, the program booklet was dedicated to Jay in appreciation of  is many contributions and a framed copy was presented to him at the Annual Meeting.  The program dedication states: “ His deep commitment, tireless energy, and unwavering optimism inspire all who work alongside him.  His cheerful nature is as much a gift to TSF as his decades of leadership.  We are proud to honor and thank Jay for his extraordinary service and lasting impact on The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield and dedicate this program to him with admiration and affection.”

Christina Gagne and Mara Gould were elected as new members to the board of directors.  Both bring a commitment to helping students and the board looks forward to their contributions.
