Trudy Encarnacao was born on June 16, 1945 in New Bedford, MA. She moved to Wakefield, MA in 1967 and made Wakefield her home. She raised five children who were active in sports and school activities. She was always a member of the PTO’s and education was her passion. She was a teacher before she had children and went back into education once her children became older. She taught in the Wakefield school system for more than 20 years, always trying to make a lasting impact on her students. This scholarship, established in her name on her 80th birthday, is a way to give back to the citizens and students of Wakefield, who have always played an important role throughout her life.
