Mr. Inglis, a former Wakefield resident, played varsity baseball and football at Wakefield High School. He was also a much-decorated World War II hero who in 1983 donated a portion of his lottery winnings to establish this fund. After leaving Wakefield, he moved to Hawaii and later resided in Las Vegas. The West Side Social Club honored Mr. Inglis in 1975 by naming him Chief Marshal of that year’s Fourth of July Parade.
