Thomas D. Morse Fund

This fund was established to honor Tom Morse, a beloved and popular Wakefield High School history teacher from 1953 until 1969. He later taught at Lynnfield High School, retiring in 1978. He died in December 1996 following a long illness. Mr. Morse not only touched the lives of many students, with his caring manner and his great sense of humor, he was also a talented water colorist whose paintings earned him numerous titles and awards. He was very active in his community of Wakefield, serving on the Board of Selectmen in the ’50s and for many years as a member of the town’s Fire Department. He was an avid skier, model railroader and member of the local 9:29’ers Banjo Club. In short, Thomas D. Morse was a most engaging and multi-faceted personality, one who would indeed be honored to know that a scholarship fund in his memory had been established to further children’s educations.
