Paul Haynes grew up on Water Street in Wakefield and attended the Franklin School, followed by junior high and three years at Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School. He later graduated from Reading High School and briefly worked at a local garage before beginning his long career at Power Products.
Paul spent more than 38 years at Power Products, where he built a reputation as a skilled and dedicated professional. Starting with work on diesel engines and transmissions, he advanced to become a Master Diesel Mechanic and road service technician. He traveled extensively, servicing boats—his favorite—as well as heavy equipment and trucks.
A lifelong hard worker, Paul also spent many weekends with Woods Tree Service, later known as Woodmaster Tree Service, where he was respected by both colleagues and supervisors. He believed strongly in the value of education and hands-on learning, continually expanding his knowledge through courses with Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission. He also served as a trainer, sharing his expertise with others in the field.
Outside of work, Paul enjoyed music, attending concerts, snowmobiling, and watching thunderstorms. He had a special love for dogs, especially his late companions Jake and Remi, and a deep appreciation for classic cars, particularly his Mustang.
This fund honors Paul’s legacy by supporting students pursuing careers in the trades, helping to provide the education and training he valued so highly.
