This fund honors a former Town Health Agent and the proprietor of Fairlawn Kennels from 1965 until his death in 1982. Fred was killed while piloting his own airplane, which had iced up and spun out of control. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He also worked as a sanitary inspector and a meat and dairy inspector and he received many awards in recognition of his work in these fields. The fund has a preference for an individual planning to study animal husbandry or veterinary medicine.
