The 44th Annual Appeal wil be held on Saturday, March 16th. TSF Student Directors will prepare a mailing to community members and past supporters while also sharing information about TSF on Facebook and Instagram. In addition, a 2024 Annual Appeal color flier will be included with the Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department March billing statements. Formerly known as the Annual Phonathon, this year’s format replaces phone calls made by high school students asking for support from Wakefield residents.
The Annual Appeal, TSF’s largest annual fundraiser, helps raise funds for scholarships to Wakefield residents in their pursuit of higher education at 2-year and 4-year colleges, universities, community colleges, graduate schools, and career training programs. Students are eligible to apply each year they are a full-time student. Every donation, regardless of the dollar amount, goes a long way in making a difference in the life of a local student in need of scholarship assistance.
Since 1960, TSF has provided over 12,780 financial awards to Wakefield residents to assist them in obtaining a higher education. Last year, 289 full-time students of all ages received scholarship assistance for the 2023-2024 school year. TSF is working to grant even more assistance this year as both the cost of college and the need for aid continues to increase. With the soaring prices of higher education and the growing burden of student debt, the mission of TSF is now more essential than ever.
